Kool Tools

A natural artist, drawing since the age of seven, Doug Dorr looked up to his father, George Dorr, a custom car builder who took his son to car shows, where he met Von Dutch, Ed Roth and other pinstripers. He taught himself how to airbrush using a car tire as his air compressor, and an old airbrush, practicing on helmets, T-shirts, and murals. In 2002, Doug started Kool Tools, a line of hand painted tools. At a show in Anaheim, California he met Von Franco, who encouraged him to start pinstriping. Since 2003, Dorr has been pinstriping, and his work has been featured in over 30 magazines including Custom Rodder. He boasts an impressive client list including Black Fly's, Meguiars, George Barris, Monster Garage, Hot Tuna, John Force, Bodyglove, Lucky 13, Bell Helmets , One Shot, and many others.
